We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Child Care Provider to join our team in Jersey City, New Jersey. As a Child Care Provider, you will be responsible for creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children under your care. You will assist in their development through age-appropriate activities, ensuring their physical, emotional, and intellectual well-being. This position requires a strong commitment to child safety, effective communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with parents and other team members.
Responsibilities:
- Provide a safe and secure environment for children, ensuring their well-being at all times.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities to promote their physical, social, and cognitive development.
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks, considering any dietary restrictions or allergies.
- Maintain a clean and organized child care area, including regular cleaning and sanitization of toys, equipment, and facilities.
- Monitor children’s behavior and address any issues or concerns promptly and appropriately.
- Develop and implement daily schedules and routines, including nap times, meals, and educational activities.
- Collaborate with parents to understand their child’s needs, preferences, and any specific instructions or requirements.
- Communicate effectively with parents, providing updates on their child’s progress, activities, and any incidents.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment, promoting respect, empathy, and kindness among the children.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certification in early childhood development is a plus.
- Proven experience working with children in a child care setting, daycare, or similar environment.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate activities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with children, parents, and team members.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to child care.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain certification).
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt to changing situations.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check.
